Cable and Clein discuss challenges to Merseyside Economy

Richard Clein the Lib Dem who wants to become the first MP for the new

Sefton Central seat at the next general election has taken local

concerns about the economy to the only national politician commanding

wide support for this grasp of the financial problems affecting the

Country, Lib Dem Shadow Chancellor Vince Cable.

Richard met Vince recently to discuss local and national economic

issues and he was pleased to gain backing from the senior Lib Dem MP for

his campaign to win the Sefton Central seat.

Says Richard "Wherever I go people stop me and tell me that Lib Dem

Shadow Chancellor Vince Cable is the only politician who is talking

sense over our terrible economic situation"

"Having met Vince and discussed with him how badly the economic

downturn is affecting Merseyside I am convinced that what residents are

saying to me is right. Vince really is the only politician who saw the

problems coming, warned the Government about what was coming, has been

proved right very step of the way and who has a credible path out of

this situation.

"Just compare those commonly held views about Vince with the

performance of the Tory Shadow Chancellor and his Leader David Cameron.

All they have managed so far is yar-boo attacks on the Government,

confusing and contradictory statements on the economy and an apology for

getting it all wrong! Hardly inspiring stuff from the Party that claims

to be the next Party of Government, no wonder people say that the Lib

Dems and Vince Cable are talking sense."
